Mr. Formica said that he, along with other Selectmen, attended the Memorial Day Parade. He also attended the prayer vigil on the Sunday evening before Memorial Day with the Veterans. He had the opportunity to read to 3rd graders at Niantic Center and Lillie B. Schools. He attended a Route 11 Greenway meeting and they are moving forward by baby steps and he spoke to the Black Point Beach Club Association. Tuesday evening he chaired a Water and Sewer meeting and before it started, he attended a reception for teachers retiring.

Last Wednesday, he went to a CCM rally in Hartford and was shadowed by Ryan Forrestt, a raffle winner from Flanders School’s Ice Cream Social Raffle. He had the opportunity to meet Senator Andrea Stillman, and State Representative Ed Jutila and the Speaker of the House and then had a picture taken with the Governor in her office. Thursday evening he took part in a presentation to the New London Water Authority regarding a conceptual plan for interconnection between New London and East Lyme. It was decided that more study was needed. On Monday of this week he handed out certificates at the first Employee Recognition Day to those employees who had 25, 30 35 and 40 years of service to the Town. He added that employees who acted above and beyond their job, or recommended by the public were also recognized. Today, he attended a Rotary luncheon honoring students of the month.
