East Lyme Middle School as
Middle School of The Year 2012-2013
During a ceremony held on September 28, 2012 we heard comments from First Selectman, Paul Formica;
"Good Morning,
Dr. Delew, Staff and students of East Lyme Middle School- Congratulations on behalf of all the citizens of the Town of East Lyme on the wonderful achievement!!
Senator Blumenthal and congressman Courtney; Welcome to East Lyme where today you will see what we see each and every day,... That is a terrific school system led by our dynamic school superintendent Dr. James Lombardo; A number of award winning schools and the people, in and out of education, who provide the support and resources necessary so the these wonderfully talented educators can create this culture of excellence...A culture that promotes, seamlessly incorporates the best middle level practices which provides our teachers and staff not only the tools that they need to excel, but the environment necessary so that our students can absorb that excellence.
East Lyme Middle School embodies the very essence of what east lyme is, a caring community of varied talents and people who came together to support each other to be the best that we can be.
So I stand here this morning proud, proud not only of all the students and staff of east Lyme middle school, proud not only because the Connecticut association of schools has chosen to recognize East Lyme Middle School as it's Middle School of the year, but proud to live here, proud to live in East Lyme where our community supports each other and recognizes the value of people especially their continuing education.
So to all of you who dedicate much of your day working here and learning here, CONGRATULATUIONS again of your wonderful recognition as the 2012/2013 Middle School of the Year and Thank You for the honor of being with you here today to share in it."
