We find ourselves at the end of another election cycle and the Town Community has elected a number of fine citizens for various Boards and Commissions.Â
Mr. Formica, our First Selectman for the past two years, was duly re-elected to another term. The elected were sworn in at the Town’s inaugural event which was held on December 7, 2009 in Nett Hall at Camp Rell.
It was also a day to honor veterans of all wars and for all years of services, but most especially we honor our special guests, the veterans of World War II. Â Â M. Jodi Rell, Governor of the State of Connecticut proclaimed December 7, 2009, as PEARL HARBOR DAY in the State of Connecticut.
Â
WWII Veterans Bill Barnard and Beverly Bernard, WWII Veteran John Deane and others were among the many veterans present for the occasion. One chair was left vacant in rememberence of Brian Gaffney who died November 9th, 2009 and was active in the American Legion.
