Officers Receive Wartime Service Medals

On September 2, 2009, the Honorable Paul M. Formica, 1st Selectman for the Town of East Lyme presented the Connecticut Wartime Service Medal to officers of the East Lyme Police Department.  According to the Connecticut General Statutes, the Commissioner of Veterans’ Affairs in conjunction with the Adjutant General shall award a ribbon and medal to each veteran who served in time of war, and who either (1) was a resident of this state at the time he or she was called to active duty for such service, or (2) is domiciled in this state on the date of such award.

 

Police Officer Michael Macek:  United States Marine Corps

 

Police Officer Dona’l Wyckoff:  Untied States Marine Corps

 

Police Officer David Favalora:  United States Coast Guard

 

Police Officer Lawrence Watson:  United States Navy

 

Police Officer Kenneth Mellor:  United States Marine Corps / United States Army Special Forces-Green Berets
