The East Lyme Garden Club established this new $1,000 scholarship beginning with the Class of 2009.  It is intended for a student planning to attend a four-year institution with interest in majoring in a science supporting the club’s objectives or for a student with an undecided major who has expressed interest in environmental issues, conservation, or science.  It is managed with other local scholarships through the scholarship committee at the East Lyme High School.  May Mart profits have afforded the Garden club the opportunity to double the scholarship to allow 2 students to each receive a $1000 support scholarship.
