Thomas Lee House to Celebrate Statewide Connecticut Open House Day on June 11th.

The Thomas Lee House (c.1660) located on Route 156 just east of Rocky Neck State Park will participate in the Seventh Annual Connecticut Open House Day on June 11th 2011, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This exciting event, sponsored by the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism, is designed to broaden awareness among residents of Connecticut’s cultural assets and encourage them to become ambassadors who share newfound discoveries with family and friends.
The East Lyme Historical Society will feature tours of the Thomas Lee House, the Little Boston School House, and the Herb Garden. This is another activity is part of the continuing 350th anniversary of the Lee House. There will be a Colonial Tea, ($5.00 tickets for the tea by reservations only, call 860-739-9080 or 860-691-1783), Chamber Music, Colonial Activities, the Quoketaug Rangers, Trappers, Oxen, and the Ezra Lee and Nehantic Indian exhibits will be open in the barn as well as our “Colonial Store”.
There will be no admittance charge to the event. Please join us and enjoy. The Lee House Tours will begin for the season in July and take place Wednesday thru Sunday, 1-4 pm, until Labor Day.
